Carol Schram: Tryamkin throws 'em, Team Tank celebrates, Vancouver Canucks fall to Stars Nikita Tryamkin knocked Jamie Benn out of the game with a second-period fight, but the Dallas Stars scored two third-period goals to beat the Vancouver Canucks 4-2 on Thursday at Rogers Arena.

Thanks Carol.

Loving Tryanmpling..... Almost the only reason I tune in these days is to watch Tryamkin manhandle people. Cannot remember any other Canuck D who could do the same effortless physicality.

Does anybody else know why Tyamkin keeps one glove on in his fights? Can you ask around Carol? For grip? His opponent knows he will only chuck with his right...he needs to get rid of his glove and utilize his reach with the jab. Easy for him to cut a couple guys open

I think his not knowing how to fight, probably leans to him not wanting him to fight.

If only Tryamkin was on the team when Prust was mentoring JV and McCann last year

Thanks Carol,

Call it Team Tank or ?, the reality is we're not a good hockey team. Potential, absolutely. I'm all for giving the GM the luxury, and the best opportunity to pick who he likes, trade down or whatever for once. Even if it's only a 17.9 % chance, one would think this teams luck needs to change at some point after 40+ years!

No pom pom waving here.

Long time watcher, enjoyed reading all you guys for close to a couple years now and finally decided to join/post to get a strawpole response to a question .
Assuming you sit in the Jim Benning catbird seat and Aquilinis and Linden dont hamstring you ...do you go to Alex Edler at end of season and tell him : submit a list of 15 (more or less at your own discretion , just an arbitrary number here ) teams you will accept a trade to or i will expose you to Vegas in the draft ?And shout out to Carol great blogging !

Thanks Carol. Nice you brought up the draft and Vegas. Some keep posting the wrong odds or confused about the positoning. Following from last thread. Stayed out of the melee to see where it went.

Anyway, whoever finishes 28th has the same 10.33 odds as Vegas in the lotto draft. Watering down their chances. However, if neither team wins a lotto position to move up then they will get dropped. Only that Vegas will take the position above the 28th place finisher. As Vegas has the 3rd draft spot throughout the remaining rounds entitled to them.

I try to force him to accept a trade. Depends on the return though.

Welcome!

As for your question, its a tough game of chicken. As much as I like the idea behind the tactic, his agent probably is fairly smart and would call the bluff knowing the two choices are here stays or you lose a good asset for nothing. Then they could probably work out a trade from Vegas to whatever of the 29 remaining teams he actually wants to go

I don't buy this week draft BS - as a fairly consistent time line/trend, just look at the last 6 drafts, theres only been 2 players in the top ten that haven't played a game - YET, and that doesn't mean they can be written off either. Just bcus there's no Laines or McDavids doesn't mean there's no Draisaitls or Scheifeles. Look at the data, drafting in the top 10 gives any team a great shot at a player that will eventually become an important piece to a team. This is a team sport isn't it?

Tryamkin/Granlund were so Solid last night! Granlund has pretty much saved himself from the expansion draft, don't see JB exposing him.

Tryamkin doesn't want to hurt people.... that much is obvious. Once he saw that sharp was in pain (might have pulled something) he backed right off. They need to get him to stop thinking, crush guys, toe the line a bit more in my opinion. He's so strong and can pretty much move any player in the NHL, what a great find.
